Less Projects is a part of the Less Everything family of applications. Less Everything was founded by Allan Branch and Steven Bristol in January of 2007. The company is based out of Jacksonville, Florida and currently remains small with around five employees. Less Everything is also responsible for creating Less Accounting, Less Memories, Lovd by Less and More Honey.
Less Projects offers many of the same, basic functions available through other similar applications. Users are also enticed with a few additional items, such as color coded post it notes that give users a way to create an overview of various tasks and where they currently stand. Less Projects is easy to use and gives the user total control over their projects and team.
Less Projects users the right amount of color to create an appealing, well organized contrast among all its features. Users can view priorities and status of items quickly. The post it note feature is also well organized, using square post it note style boxes to compile many items into one open space without losing coherence.
New users can sign up for Less Projects by clicking on the bold “Log Back In” link in the tan header across the top of the homepage. Users are given two login options. The first is to log in using an existing Google account (through the form on the right hand side). Users can access a traditional registration form by clicking one of the blue “Need an account?” links in either login box. This takes the user to the registration form which requires a username, email address, password, and verification response. After clicking the terms of service acceptance check box (and remember me box if the user prefers), the information can be submitted and the user can begin accessing Less Projects features.
Less Projects allows users to create an account and begin adding businesses and projects for free. Although the site includes a button to pricing, this only takes the user to the registration page. After registration, no pricing plan information is provided and the use can immediately begin using the application. There may be a subscription fee required for certain services or after a period of time, but the site does not supply this specific information to new users. An FAQ or separate pricing information page would be a big help for users who would most likely want to know pricing information before using an application and becoming reliant on it.
Less Projects is a helpful tool for almost any team of people in need of project organization. The application is intended more for professionals and organizations who may need to work on multiple projects at once.
